Product Description

Get Your USB Barcode Scanners Connected Directly to the Data Table of Your Allen-Bradley PLC

The 460ETCUSB moves data between up to 2 USB devices like barcode scanners and 1– 5 Allen-Bradley PLCs.

With the 460ETCUSB you are making a direct connection between USB ASCII device data and user defined Tags or Registers in the data table of your Allen-Bradley PLC. There is no polling from the PLC or Ethernet/IP scan lists to arrange.

Best of all the product is Made in the USA, is always in stock and comes with 5 year warranty.

How Does the Data Move Into the PLC?

Incoming ASCII data from a USB device is mapped to user defined tags or registers in the data table of your Allen-Bradley PLC. You define two tags in the PLC. One for incoming data and a message counter. In your logic you read the value of the scan when ever the message count increments.

If your device uses delimiters, the 460ETCUSB can be configured to automatically remove the delimiters, no need to deal with the delimiters in your PLC. If you need to parse your data, the 460ETCUSB can parse a string of ASCII data in up to 50 segments by delimiter or offset.

It’s designed to be a simple USB interface, and it really is that simple.

Why Use Real Time Automation as a Gateway Supplier?

The 460ETCUSB provides an option to access a USB ASCII data without having to upgrade your PLC or get an expensive in rack solution. While there are certainly a number of other companies offering stand alone gateways, there is no one who provides the level of support and service that you receive from RTA.

When you call, a live person answers the phone. When you talk with sales, you will get honest answers and recommendations even if that means recommending someone else’s solution. When you get support, it is from an engineer who had a hand in the product’s development, and doesn’t require a ticket or 24 hour wait. We are unashamed of the fact that we are a smaller company because that means you mean a lot more to us.

Gateway Security
You can configure up to 9 different users access to diagnostic and configuration screens.

Alarming
Set <, <=, >=, >, ==, !=, and Change-of-State rules on any data moving through the gateway. If alarm rule is triggered an email notification can be sent.

Translation Table
Allows for data manipulation during protocol translation. Scaling and other data format changes can occur in the gateway.

Status and Counters
Protocol specific status, counters and error messages are accessible within the gateways diagnostics page. They can also be delivered to a connected device.

Diagnostic Logging Page
Allows users to see and log start up sequences, protocol specific messages & error messages.
